This is a community swimming pool at Phillipi Cape Town. Entrance is R2 for adults and R1 for children. It is closed for winter.

A security guard at the pool, who preferred not to be named, told GroundUp that in summer many people use the pool. “Even children from Khayelitsha and other surrounding areas come here. Inside the pool centre there’s a room with baskets where children keep their belongings and there’s a small playing park. This is definitely a place to chill with your friends and family.”

Worryingly, he also said that some children have drowned, even though there are life guards. It’s important that parents supervise their children at the pool and watch them closely.
