Former Buccaneers player in court - for coaching soccer
A three year long legal battle between the City of Cape Town and the African Brothers Football Academy (ABFA) is coming to a close. On 14 May the academy’s Craig Hepburn will appear in court, charged with failing to comply with the City’s zoning laws.

Skaters love their park
The Mill Street Skate Park is "the best Park in Cape Town" according to Bradley Bourne, a skateboarder from Mitchell’s Plain. It is also the City’s first public skate park in the CBD, located adjacent the MyCiti bus stop in Gardens. The Park opened in August 2014, winning the Building Trust International PLAYscapes design competition, and now attracts skateboarders, rollerbladers, and BMXers from around Cape Town and beyond.

Cash-strapped touch rugby team needs funds for World Cup
Just three weeks ahead of the World Cup in Australia, members of the national men’s touch rugby team are still scrambling to raise enough money to fund their trip. Most of the players are from the Bo-Kaap.

A Langa team qualifies for prestigious U19 soccer tournament for first time
On the weekend, the Metropolitan U19 Cup play-offs come to an end with the round-robin stage at the Bayhill United Legacy grounds in Mitchell’s Plain. 14 teams from the Western Cape will join host club Bayhill United, reigning champions Ajax Cape Town and Morgenster United champions in the Mitchell’s Plain LFA.
