GroundUp statement on error in Business Report

On 17 September Business Report, an Independent Media publication, ran a report stating that former Arena Holdings CEO Mzi Malunga had worked  at Sunday World and was connected to a report that was published by GroundUp. That report exposed questionable editing practices at the Sunday World connected with Lottery advertising.

But Mzi Malunga has not to our knowledge worked for Sunday World and GroundUp has not previously mentioned Malunga in any article we have published. It’s unclear to us why Business Report made this error. It is regrettable that Independent Media has cast false aspersions on Malunga.

We note that Business Report has since corrected its report.
